Save the Children
£10,000
Safeguarding children in Gaza during the conflict.
UK registered charity 1187210
The Altor Foundation is funded by a share of the income of Altor Wealth Management. We make grants to UK charities now, and build a permanent endowment so the giving carries on long after that income stops.
Why we exist
We divert a share of Altor Wealth's profits to charities with a large net impact, and we keep our own costs low so that almost all of it reaches them.
Each year we aim to give half our income away and invest the other half. The invested half is on track to reach £1m before the current partners retire, which should support grants of £20,000-£30,000 a year indefinitely.
In 2025 we gave away less than our 50% target and ended the year holding £221,961 in cash. The trustees intend to correct this by making more grants in 2026.
What we fund
We favour projects achieving two or more of these at once. We also consider charities personally supported by Altor Wealth clients and staff, by request.
Grants made in 2025
£10,000
Safeguarding children in Gaza during the conflict.
£5,000
Responding to the earthquake appeal for Afghanistan.
£1,000
Supporting patients and families through a diagnosis of sarcoma, a soft-tissue cancer.
£1,000
Supporting local women diagnosed with cancer.
Two further grants totalling £1,210 were made to charities suggested by Altor Wealth clients and staff. All six are listed in the 2025 annual report.
The endowment
£513,950
at 31 December 2025, against a target of £1,000,000
51% of the way there
2024: £260,418
Half of everything received is invested in the EQ Positive Impact All Equity fund, chosen to grow in value and to do measurable good while it does.
At £1m the endowment alone carries the grant programme. From then on the Foundation no longer depends on the income of Altor Wealth Management to keep giving.
Impact
Attributable to our investment alone, as reported by the fund.
